About
Aditi Sonar is an Indian designer who grew up in the UK, with work rooted in an exploration of her personal nostalgia. She reimagines vintage silhouettes through the dual influences of London and South Asia, creating sustainable lingerie that is playful, distinctive, and made to last.
Sustainability & Production
At Aditi Sonar, we’re committed to creating beautiful pieces with care.
Materials
We prioritize sustainable, low-impact materials wherever possible, including:
- Natural fibres
- Cotton blends
- Vintage and deadstock lace
- Recycled fabrics
- Upcycled fabrics and embellishments
When non-sustainable components are used, we’ll always specify this transparently.
Production
All our pieces are produced in very small batches on a made-to-order basis. Production is either done by hand in Aditi's London studio or handmade through a small, ethically minded manufacturing partner in China.
Our manufacturing partner maintains fair working conditions, offering competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing training for their staff. Many of their workers have stayed with the company for over a decade, a testament to the positive, respectful environment they've cultivated. They've also introduced a profit-sharing and equity model to attract and retain skilled talent, reflecting a progressive approach to worker well-being in the garment industry.
As a small, slow-fashion brand, each piece is made with care in batches. Please allow a minimum of 8 weeks from your order date for your piece to be produced and delivered. This ensures we never overproduce, never waste fabric, and every order is made with intention.
Packaging
All packaging is fully recyclable or made from recycled materials wherever possible, because sustainability doesn’t stop at the product.
Shipping
We use tracked shipping, which typically delivers within 3 working days in the UK and 7-10 working days internationally.
For international orders, we use a service that prepays customs duties and fees; however, if any additional charges arise, we are not responsible for these costs.
Refunds & Returns
Because every piece is made to order in small batches, we ask that you read this policy carefully before purchasing.
Measurements & fit
All bras are made to your measurements. After placing your order, we will contact you by email to confirm your sizing before we begin production.
If you’re unsure how to confirm your measurements, you can follow our sizing guide here: Sizing Guide, or get in touch and we’d be happy to help.
This step exists so we get your fit right first time reducing waste and ensuring your piece is made exactly for you.
If measurements are not confirmed and your piece does not fit as a result, we are unable to offer a refund or exchange as the garment has already been made to your stated size. If measurements are confirmed and there is still a fit issue, we will always make it right.
Returns & exchanges
If your bra or suspender doesn't fit and you confirmed your measurements with us, we are happy to offer an exchange or refund. Please note that exchanges require a new piece to be made and will take an additional 8 weeks to produce and ship.
For hygiene reasons, knickers cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances.
Once production has begun we are unable to cancel any order, as the piece is already in the process of being made. Cancelling at this stage would result in wasted materials, which goes against everything we stand for as a slow fashion brand. We appreciate your understanding.
UK returns
We offer free returns and exchanges within the UK for eligible items.
International returns & exchanges
For international orders, return shipping is not covered. If you require an exchange, you will need to arrange and cover the cost of returning the item to us as well as the redelivery of your new piece.
We strongly recommend confirming your measurements carefully before we begin production to avoid this.
